Every medical courier driver at Power House Courier operates under documented compliance protocols. This isn't a marketing claim — it's what hospitals, labs, and pharmaceutical companies verify before they credential us at their facilities.

HIPAA Business Associate: We operate as a HIPAA Business Associate with documented safeguards for protected health information (PHI). Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) are available for all clients. Our tracking systems use encrypted data transmission, and specimen labeling follows minimum-necessary PHI principles.

UN3373 Category B Certification: All medical couriers are trained and certified for transporting UN3373 Biological Substance, Category B shipments. This covers diagnostic specimens, patient samples, and most clinical materials. Packaging follows IATA and DOT requirements including triple-containment, absorbent material, and proper labeling.

Temperature Validation: Cold-chain shipments use validated insulated containers with calibrated temperature monitors. We maintain packaging protocols for three temperature ranges: ambient (15–25°C), refrigerated (2–8°C), and frozen (below -20°C). Post-delivery temperature logs are provided as part of every cold-chain shipment's documentation package.

Hospital Credentialing: Our drivers maintain active credentials at major hospital systems across our service areas, including Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Health, USC Keck Medicine, CHOC, Banner Health, and Texas Medical Center facilities. Credentialing includes background checks, TB testing, and facility-specific orientation where required.

Local medical courier or national medical logistics? We run both.

Most medical courier companies are one or the other: a local van service that stops at the county line, or a national logistics broker that subcontracts the actual driving. Power House Courier is set up as a hub-and-spoke medical logistics company. Our own couriers cover the metro areas around Los Angeles, Phoenix and Houston — hospital-to-lab specimen routes, pharmacy transfers, surgical loaner sets, STAT pickups. For anything outside those areas, the same dispatcher books it as next flight out or on-board courier, so a clinical trial sample collected in West LA can be at a CRO in Phoenix, Denver or Boston the same day with one chain-of-custody record from end to end.

Scheduled routes. Labs and hospital systems with daily pickups get a fixed route, a named courier and a standing time window. On-demand and STAT. One-off runs are dispatched within 15 minutes of the call, around the clock. Recurring accounts. B2B clients get a dedicated account manager, priority dispatch and consolidated monthly invoicing.

How medical courier pricing works

Every run is quoted per job. The price depends on distance, urgency (scheduled, same-day or STAT), temperature requirements, wait time at pickup or delivery, and whether the run stays local or goes next-flight-out.
